Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to form as teens enter into adulthood and are located in the back of the jaw directly behind your second molars. The jaw is sometimes too small to accommodate for the four new wisdom teeth and an impacted tooth can occur as the teeth don’t have enough space in the mouth to grow properly. This results in an inability for the teeth to grow into the proper position for chewing and cleaning.
Sometimes teeth can no longer be restored because of advanced decay, fractures, or periodontal (gum) disease.
Dr. Hoover removes those teeth and replaces them with implants or a prosthesis (partial or denture). At Hoover Family Dentistry the patient has the option of being put to sleep by IV conscious sedation for the removal of wisdom teeth or non- restorable teeth.
We practice a full scope of oral surgical procedures.
